Baby in the grass, PGD Translocations

Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) for Anueploidy

Am I looking for PGS or PGD?

Gene Security Network offers advanced Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) for all 24 chromosomes.

Testing is usually performed on Day 3 when blastomeres are sent to our CLIA-certified laboratory in Redwood City, California. Results are returned by the morning of Day 5, in time for a fresh embryo transfer.

Testing of day 5 trophectoderm samples can also be performed if embryo freezing is planned.

ABOUT PARENTAL SUPPORT

What is Microarray Analysis?

A microarray is a glass slide with ~300,000 unique pieces of DNA, called “probes.” These probes are designed to stick to pieces of (hybridized) DNA found in the embryonic cell. A computer, which analyzes the microarray (called a “scanner”), will produce a report on the hybridized DNA.

What is Parental Support?

Parental Support is GSN’s unique process (available only through Partner IVF Clinics) to interpret the read-out from the scanner with high accuracy and reliability. GSN uses information from parent biological samples to interpret the data from the microarray. Results are reported for all 24 chromosomes with turnaround in time for Day 5 transfer without embryo freezing when Day 3 embryo biopsy is performed.

THE MOST ACCURATE AND COMPREHENSIVE PGS RESULTS

GSN has shown the Parental Support approach to PGD gives couples using our tests results comparable to a karyotype (the Gold Standard in genetic testing).* We have very high accuracy (averaging above 98.5%) and low false positive and false negative rates.

We deliver accurate results on all chromosomes (including X and Y) are are able to detect more types of abnormalities than any other technology. In addition, GSN is the only test that can simultaneously detect single gene defects plus aneuploidy or translocations plus aneuploidy from a single cell.

What GSN’s Patients are Saying…

“I heard about PGD after I had one pregnancy with a chromosome abnormality and then another that resulted in miscarriage. I was in my late thirties and I realized that this technology may be the only way that I would have a healthy child.

I learned that PGD through GSN was the newest and most accurate. My interactions with the GSN team were always very informative, reliable, and accessible.

I am so very happy to report that I now have a set of twins who are healthy and thriving!”

Next Steps to GSN’s 24-Chromosome PGD for Aneuploidy:

1. Find a Partner IVF Clinic that GSN works with; if you are already working with an IVF clinic that GSN is not currently working with, please send an email to info@genesecurity.net with the contact information of the clinic and the name of the doctor that you are working with.

2. Once working with a Partner IVF Clinic, ask your IVF physician for GSN testing and he or she will send in a referral.

3. You will receive a GSN parent collection kit, either at your clinic or one will be sent to you directly once your referral is received, which is used to gather data from the egg and sperm contributor for each case. Once you have decided to proceed with testing you will sign the included consent forms and you can submit blood or buccal samples directly to GSN.

4. The kit includes instructions for how to contact us to schedule an optional genetic counseling session (there is no cost for this consultation, and no commitment required to continue with GSN testing). This phone consultation is your opportunity to ask any technical questions you may have about Parental Support results and benefits compared to other available preimplantation genetic testing technologies.

5. After the above steps are complete, you are ready to have your IVF cycle with GSN’s Parental Support technology for 24-Chromosome PGD for Anueploidy.
